Responsibilities
- Own and architect Backstage as the central software catalog containing metadata, ownership data, and telemetry for engineering systems.
- Build internal developer platform capabilities, golden paths, and self-service tools that simplify AWS infrastructure access.
- Modernize deployment pipelines using containerization, progressive delivery, and GitOps practices.
- Support Linux SRE operations and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments for high-performance workloads.
- Help migrate latency-sensitive workloads from VMware and on-premises datacenters to AWS.
- Write reproducible, version-controlled Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CDK, and related tools.
- Create and improve pipelines that drive quality and protect services from operational risk.
- Participate in the standard on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience primarily focused on Platform Engineering, SRE, or modern DevOps.
- Hands-on experience building Internal Developer Platforms and ideally configuring Backstage plugins and data models.
- Expertise with Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and scaling systems under load.
- Experience with AWS and migrating workloads from legacy on-premises datacenters, especially VMware, into the cloud.
- Strong familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
- Ability to write automation and tooling in Python, Go, TypeScript, or Bash.
- Preferred experience contributing to open-source tools or building custom Backstage plugins.
- Preferred experience integrating telemetry tools such as Datadog or Prometheus into developer portals.
- Fintech, trading, or capital markets experience is beneficial but not required.
