Responsibilities
- Lead and coach development teams and mentor engineers at multiple levels.
- Guide teams through solution design, coding, testing, Agile planning, and delivery of prioritized roadmap work.
- Design and develop maintainable enterprise applications, components, APIs, and vertical slices of customer value.
- Collaborate with product owners and key team members to clarify requirements and resolve technical ambiguity.
- Establish and reinforce standards for coding, design, security, automation, testing, and engineering practices.
- Provide technical guidance on best practices, coding patterns, and adoption of new technologies.
- Promote a respectful, engaging environment that supports learning and improvement of people, processes, and tooling.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, automated builds, testing, peer review, and DevOps.
- Experience leading development teams responsible for delivering prioritized roadmap items.
- Experience designing and developing applications with J2EE, service-oriented architecture, APIs, containerized deployments, and front-end technologies.
- Deep experience with distributed computing, object-oriented design, enterprise messaging, integration patterns, and XML/JSON web services.
- Strong relational database experience with PostgreSQL and Oracle.
- Experience with Java technologies including JMS, MDB, and JPA/Hibernate.
- Familiarity with Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data, JUnit, Mockito, Apache Camel, and Apache ActiveMQ.
- Experience building high-volume, real-time applications and working with Agile practices such as Scrum.
- Experience with Java, Bamboo, Git, open-source components and frameworks, Test Driven Development, and BDD.
- Preferred experience includes microservices architecture, GraphQL, GitHub Actions, Hudson, AI/ML-driven tooling, AWS, EKS, Karpenter, and ArgoCD.
