Base Salary
$225k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, low-latency Java applications for order management, execution algorithms, risk management, pricing, and systematic trading.
- Own the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Implement multithreading, asynchronous and event-driven patterns, concurrency controls, and performance optimizations for high-throughput trading operations.
- Build and maintain integrations with external trading systems, exchanges, execution venues, APIs, messaging middleware, and market data feeds using FIX protocols.
- Collaborate with traders, quantitative analysts, risk managers, and technologists to translate trading requirements into scalable technical solutions and implement custom signals and strategies.
- Maintain code quality through comprehensive testing, code reviews, software engineering best practices, and technical documentation.
Requirements
- 3–7 years of experience developing trading systems, electronic trading platforms, or financial technology applications in front-office trading environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field, with a strong academic record.
- Expert-level Java programming skills, preferably including Java 17 or later.
- Deep understanding of multithreading, concurrent programming, thread safety, asynchronous or event-driven programming, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns, data structures, software architecture, system architecture, messaging patterns, and distributed systems.
- Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases and strong Linux/Unix proficiency.
- Experience integrating external APIs, third-party trading systems, and market connectivity platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, attention-to-detail, ethical judgment, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with FIX protocol, electronic trading connectivity standards, Python, C++, C#, kdb/q, time-series databases, cloud platforms, messaging middleware, and DevOps practices.
- Preferred knowledge of equity market microstructure, trading workflows, MiFID II, Reg NMS, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques applied to trading.
