Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware in C/C++ for Ring devices.
- Specify and implement embedded subsystems covering connectivity, streaming, power management, sensors, and security.
- Collaborate with hardware, QA, cloud, and app teams to deliver integrated product experiences.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and cross-team architecture decisions.
- Debug hardware-software issues using JTAG, UART, and protocol analyzers.
- Test firmware on real devices and support production releases.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Extensive experience with computer architecture and embedded wireless systems.
- Extensive embedded development experience in C or C++.
- Experience with ARM CPUs, low-level drivers, interrupt service routines, and hardware troubleshooting/debugging.
- Preferred: Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Preferred: Experience with BLE or WiFi, battery-powered products, IAR/Keil, Git, SPI, I2C, UART, software testing, embedded Linux, FreeRTOS, Python, and GenAI applications.
