Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own the quality operating model and lead its expansion across all product lines.
- Architect and harden agent-generated API, UI, integration, contract, performance, and end-to-end test coverage.
- Run review and activation workflows while maintaining review-throughput SLAs.
- Own evidence-backed release gates, exit criteria, waivers, sign-offs, and escalation paths.
- Define and operate the process for retiring manual tests as automation improves.
- Build calibration corpora and evaluation mechanisms for agent-generated quality verdicts.
- Embed automated testing into the software development lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines.
- Advance behavioral validation through persona walkthroughs, exploratory charters, and judgment-based testing.
- Partner with Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers to improve reliability, maintainability, and developer productivity.
- Mentor engineers and QA teammates through reviews, pairing, and technical design discussions.
- Define quality metrics such as escape rate, agent-verdict calibration, catalog trends, waiver frequency, and deployment success.
- Evaluate emerging testing technologies, agentic engineering practices, and AI-assisted development tools.
- Influence engineering strategy and establish quality as a property of the engineering system.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Quality Engineering, or SDET roles, including leadership of quality initiatives across multiple engineering teams.
- Experience designing agentic or AI-assisted quality workflows, such as agent-generated test coverage, computer-use testing, or LLM evaluation and calibration.
- Experience designing modern automated testing systems for enterprise SaaS applications and determining which testing belongs to machines versus humans.
- Strong software engineering skills, including reviewing and hardening agent-produced Java and TypeScript code and tests.
- Experience with evidence-based release governance, including release gates, exit criteria, waivers, and sign-off accountability.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native applications, CI/CD, and highly testable software architectures.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, cross-team influence, communication, and engineering enablement experience.
- Preferred experience building or transforming Quality Engineering organizations in high-growth SaaS companies.
- Preferred background as a Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, Quality Engineering Architect, or senior SDET.
- Preferred experience shipping intelligent test generation, autonomous test maintenance, or agent-driven quality workflows in production.
- Working knowledge of Playwright, Selenium, REST Assured, JUnit, TestNG, Cypress, or comparable automation technologies.
- Preferred experience with developer-owned quality, shift-left testing, testing-pyramid strategies, engineering quality metrics, spec-driven development, and artifact-first practices.
- Preferred experience operating Xray/Jira or comparable test-management systems as systems of record.
- Familiarity with cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes, serverless architectures, microservices testing, and observability platforms.
