Base Salary

$107k - $203k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of mobile applications for implantable medical devices using Kotlin Multiplatform and Core Java.
  • Develop and maintain libraries and SDKs for cross-platform mobile applications.
  • Implement secure communication between devices and cloud systems using Bluetooth Low Energy and AWS-based APIs.
  • Integrate mobile applications with AWS KMS, S3, DynamoDB, Cognito, API Gateway, EC2, and CloudWatch.
  • Author and review architecture specifications, DFMEA documents, cybersecurity reports, threat models, and other design documentation.
  • Conduct peer reviews and maintain code integrity, traceability, and compliance with medical-device software processes.
  • Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies and mentor distributed teams across multiple time zones.
  • Estimate timelines, propose plans, review milestones, and lead application development from concept through commercialization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of Android mobile application development experience, including at least 2+ years developing medical-device applications.
  • Experience architecting, designing, and developing mobile applications.
  • Strong command of at least three of Kotlin, Kotlin Multiplatform, Java, and Android Jetpack architectures including MVVM, Rx, and XML data binding.
  • At least 3 years of experience with AWS services and secure communication protocols including BLE, Wi-Fi, HTTPS, and OAuth.
  • Understanding of IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and FDA design controls for medical-device software.
  • Ability to collaborate across global teams, lead cross-functional projects, and produce documentation supporting regulatory deliverables.
  • Preferred experience developing mobile applications for neuromodulation devices.
  • Preferred experience with Jenkins, Git, SonarQube, and Atlassian Agile tools.
  • Preferred experience with secure BLE communication, data encryption, and AWS cloud-service integration.
  • Preferred experience with cybersecurity techniques including sandboxing, code obfuscation, and penetration testing.
  • Exposure to data science or machine-learning frameworks including TensorFlow, Pandas, NumPy, and R.
