Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance user-developed applications and resolve complex technical issues.
- Design, build, test, deploy, and support automation and application-modernisation solutions.
- Provide technical guidance on upgrades, scaling, capacity planning, and future-state modernisation.
- Manage incidents, lead incident calls and post-incident reviews, and communicate with business stakeholders.
- Design and review solutions aligned with enterprise security, integration, performance, and scalability standards.
- Gather requirements, validate solutions, conduct code reviews, and contribute to quality assurance activities.
- Implement robust exception handling, failover capabilities, and operational support processes.
- Identify automation opportunities and promote reusable, scalable components and solutions.
Requirements
- Strong experience in large, complex enterprise environments, preferably financial services or another regulated industry.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and supporting solutions with VBA, SQL, SharePoint, and Microsoft Access.
- Experience with database design, application support, and maintenance of business-critical applications.
- Proven experience in application delivery, production support, or application maintenance.
- Strong incident-management experience, including stakeholder communications and operational support.
- Understanding of automation technologies and modernisation of legacy user-developed applications.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments and across business and technical teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder-management, and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to deliver outcomes on time, within budget, and to a high quality standard.
- Experience with risk, governance, and quality frameworks in enterprise environments.
