Base Salary
$197k - $243k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own part of the engine’s Concurrency system, including the task scheduler, fiber runtime, and asynchronous APIs.
- Research and implement performance improvements supporting higher-fidelity experiences and large-scale server initiatives.
- Serve as the organization-wide point of contact for concurrency design reviews, parallelism bugs, and engine-team requests.
- Improve the ergonomics, testability, and debuggability of concurrent code across PC, Mac, mobile, and console.
- Debug production failures and analyze interactions among compilers, CPU architectures, and operating systems.
Requirements
- Strong modern C++ experience, including C++17 or newer, in a large and complex production codebase.
- Deep multithreading and concurrency experience with schedulers, thread pools, lock-free programming, atomics, and memory models.
- Comfort profiling and reasoning about performance at the operating-system and CPU level.
- Game engine or real-time systems experience is preferred.
- Experience with fiber or coroutine runtimes, work-stealing or job-system schedulers, or cross-platform low-level development is preferred.
- A track record of serving as a go-to expert whom other teams consult on a system is preferred.
