Responsibilities
- Design and lead delivery of Abcam’s Agentic AI platform and applications, including RAG systems and agent workflows.
- Establish engineering best practices for GenAI/LLM applications, including design patterns, evaluation, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Design, deploy, and operate production-grade AI systems with attention to reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Mentor engineers, influence architectural direction, and drive adoption of Agentic AI capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business problems into technical solutions.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering capability primarily in TypeScript, with backend and API development skills.
- Python experience is an additional benefit.
- Demonstrated ability to design, deploy, and operate production-grade AI systems.
- Expertise in Agentic AI systems, including RAG, prompt engineering, LLM integration, MCP, agentic workflows, model evaluation, and fine-tuning.
- Cloud infrastructure expertise for deploying AI applications, with AWS preferred.
- Expertise in CI/CD practices, orchestration, containerisation, and testing.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with monorepo technologies such as Nx and Lerna, infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform, multi-application deployment pipelines, and frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Svelte.
- Preferred experience with multi-agent orchestration tools such as LangGraph, LangChain, or PocketFlow, evaluation of prompts, agents, and pipelines, and Neo4j or similar knowledge graph databases.
