Senior Lead Software Engineer - AI Development | Engineering Services & Platforms
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Own platform development end to end, including design, deployment, and production support.
- Build and scale data ingestion pipelines, dependency analysis services, and developer-facing product features.
- Write production-quality Java services, APIs, data pipelines, and supporting infrastructure on AWS.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to produce, review, debug, and improve secure production code.
- Drive adoption, governance, validation standards, and reuse of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams.
- Provide technical guidance, influence product and architecture decisions, and serve as a function-wide subject matter expert.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver platform features.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering data-intensive system design, application development, testing, and operationally stable systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Java or another programming language, with Java specifically identified for the role.
- Experience building data ingestion pipelines, dependency analysis services, and developer-facing platform capabilities.
- Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, security expectations, and coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant usage.
- Ability to solve design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
- Practical cloud-native experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, and RDS.
- Preferred experience with greenfield architecture, AI/ML solutions, regulated financial-services environments, model risk and governance, and scalable architectures for AI products and platforms.
