Responsibilities
- Establish requirements and prioritize features for moderately complex software design projects.
- Complete software design and development projects, including inspections, testing, and quality validation.
- Lead and participate in code reviews and address issues during development.
- Develop and maintain design specifications, code comments, user manuals, and other software documentation.
- Review and optimize existing software and firmware designs.
- Develop custom tools or scripts for analysis, debugging, and problem solving when needed.
- Integrate software and hardware to support consistent performance and program reliability.
- Provide technical recommendations and solutions for complex problems.
- Mentor and guide junior exempt and non-exempt team members.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external customers, and senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant software engineering experience is required.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages and software development frameworks.
- Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, system-level programming, and adopting GenAI in the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with software testing strategies, debugging tools, and performance optimization techniques.
- Experience evaluating and integrating new technologies into existing software solutions.
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and GitHub, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, mentoring, and prioritization skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers or stakeholders.
- Advanced degrees such as a master’s or Ph.D. may substitute for some work experience.
