Responsibilities
- Develop firmware to enhance and extend the NetBotz product line in an RTOS-based embedded environment.
- Help formulate customer requirements and create or update engineering documentation.
- Contribute to product software design and architecture.
- Support continuous improvement of products and processes.
- Work with Technical Support on customer issues.
- Participate in code inspections and evaluate new technologies for team challenges.
- Mentor junior staff and provide project estimates to project managers.
- Work independently on both vague and concrete tasks while handling multiple activities.
- Travel internationally approximately 1–2 weeks per year as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience programming in C on a real-time operating system.
- Experience with MicroC/OS-II or μC/OS-II.
- Experience with JavaScript and web UI development in an embedded environment.
- Experience using Git for source-code management.
- Proven ability to work with embedded hardware platforms and debuggers.
- Experience with TCP/IP and protocols such as SNMP, Modbus, or BACnet.
- Ability to deliver quality solutions, work independently, estimate project tasks, analyze complex problems, innovate, and adapt across multiple activities.
- Preferred experience with web services, API design, hardware debuggers, ARM-based CPUs, environmental monitoring, industrial IoT, embedded or networking hardware products, embedded AI agents, and UML or other software design practices.
