Base Salary
$269k - $314k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the Global Partnerships core datasets, data pipelines, and broader data ecosystem.
- Design and maintain scalable data infrastructure, reliable pipelines, integrations, and automations.
- Monitor and correct data discrepancies while maintaining data precision, completeness, governance, and reliability.
- Evaluate and implement tools that improve visibility, connectivity, decision-making, and operational scale.
- Identify, pilot, and scale AI tools and agentic workflows, including team training, documentation, and change management.
- Build visualizations and quantitative analyses covering fund and investment performance, projected exit scenarios, liquidity, and follow-on decisions.
- Manipulate and analyze portfolio company information to produce practical insights and refine portfolio performance analyses.
- Lead ambiguous cross-functional initiatives and advise technical and business teams on data practices and scalable process design.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience, preferably including data analytics or data engineering.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a technical field is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail across written prose, charts, tables, spreadsheets, and changing data.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Experience building and maintaining data workflows, automations, or integrations using Python, Javascript, or a comparable programming language.
- Experience owning or administering complex data pipelines or another critical business system, with emphasis on data completeness, governance, and integration.
- Ability to lead ambiguous cross-functional projects with substantial autonomy and influence technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, demonstrate empathy, and maintain high standards of accuracy and responsiveness.
Benefits
- Anticipated base salary is $269,000-$314,000 annually, with actual starting pay varying by experience, skills, and scope.
- Eligible for the a16z carry program and discretionary bonus programs.
