Responsibilities

  • Write production-quality code across core services, platforms, and AI workflows.
  • Own high-impact features and complete projects from technical discovery through launch and post-launch follow-through.
  • Modernize legacy systems and migrate them incrementally to cloud-native architectures.
  • Design and evolve scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven integrations.
  • Build and orchestrate agentic AI systems supporting tool use, multi-step reasoning, workflow automation, task planning, and autonomous execution with human oversight.
  • Implement MCP-style patterns for context propagation, tool invocation, state and memory, guardrails, and policy enforcement.
  • Integrate AI systems with business workflows, APIs, data sources, and datastores while applying grounding, retrieval, validation, and structured-output strategies.
  • Design production evaluation, monitoring, and feedback loops for AI behavior.
  • Set architectural standards, guide service boundaries and data ownership, and make tradeoffs involving speed, scalability, correctness, reliability, and cost.
  • Coordinate architecture, engineering execution, dependencies, risk mitigation, launch readiness, and cross-team alignment.
  • Establish safe and effective practices for AI-assisted coding using tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude.
  • Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, design discussions, and technical leadership coaching.
  • Build and maintain SaaS applications, containerize applications with Docker, deploy through Kubernetes, and partner with DevOps/SRE on CI/CD, observability, and safe deployments.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proven ownership and delivery of large, complex systems, including modernization of legacy systems and technology stacks.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and shipping AI-driven and agentic AI systems in production or production-like environments.
  • History of hands-on technical leadership across teams or domains and a strong record of mentoring engineers.
  • Ability to independently lead complete projects, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, manage technical risks, and drive execution through delivery.
  • Expert-level proficiency in C# and .NET, including ASP.NET Core and modern .NET development.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design, distributed systems, microservices architectures, testing strategies, and production-quality code.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI processing systems, agentic AI architectures, autonomous workflow execution, tool or function calling, context and memory management, and AI workflow orchestration.
  • Experience integrating AI systems with datastores, APIs, and event-driven workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL, plus working knowledge of NoSQL data stores and caching strategies such as Redis.
  • Strong experience with Docker and production containerization, practical Kubernetes experience, and comfort working in AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
  • Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows.
  • Frontend framework experience such as React or Angular is preferred.
  • Experience with Python, Java, TypeScript, message queues, event streaming, workflow orchestration platforms, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs, semantic search, AI evaluation harnesses, prompt/version management, safety checks, or governance workflows is a plus.
  • Experience with high-throughput, real-time, or operationally critical SaaS systems and Agile/Scrum environments is a plus.
