Responsibilities
- Write production-quality software across core services, platforms, and AI workflows.
- Own high-impact features and complete project workstreams from technical discovery through post-launch follow-through.
- Modernize legacy systems and migrate them incrementally to cloud-native architectures.
- Design and evolve scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven integrations.
- Build agentic AI systems with tool use, multi-step reasoning, workflow automation, task planning, autonomous execution, human oversight, and MCP-style orchestration.
- Integrate AI systems with business workflows, APIs, data sources, relational databases, and NoSQL stores.
- Implement grounding, retrieval, validation, structured outputs, monitoring, evaluation, and feedback loops to mitigate hallucinations and manage AI behavior.
- Set architectural standards, guide service boundaries and data ownership, and make tradeoffs across speed, scalability, correctness, reliability, and cost.
- Lead technical execution across teams, including architecture, dependency management, risk mitigation, delivery planning, and stakeholder alignment.
- Establish guardrails and best practices for AI-assisted coding, solution design, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and code review.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, and design discussions while developing broader technical leadership.
- Build and maintain SaaS applications, Docker containers, Kubernetes deployments, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and safe production deployments.
- Participate in the full SDLC, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in C# and .NET, including ASP.NET Core and modern .NET development.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, distributed systems, microservices architectures, testing strategies, and production-quality code.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and shipping AI-driven and agentic AI systems in production or production-like environments.
- Experience with LLMs, AI processing systems, tool or function calling, context and memory management, structured outputs, and AI workflow orchestration such as MCP-style patterns.
- Experience integrating AI systems with datastores, APIs, and event-driven workflows.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL, plus working knowledge of NoSQL data stores and caching strategies such as Redis.
- Strong experience with Docker and production containerization, practical Kubernetes experience, and comfort working in AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
- Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows.
- Experience with a frontend framework such as React or Angular.
- Demonstrated ownership of large, complex systems, legacy modernization, cross-team technical leadership, independent project delivery, technical risk management, and engineer mentorship.
- Preferred experience with Python, Java, TypeScript, message queues, event streaming, workflow orchestration platforms, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs, semantic search, AI evaluation harnesses, prompt/version management, safety checks, governance workflows, high-throughput or operationally critical SaaS systems, and Agile/Scrum environments.
