Responsibilities
- Develop Android features for the flagship mobile application used by millions of customers.
- Participate in the full project lifecycle from requirements development through deployment.
- Collaborate with iOS engineers, backend teams, QA, and product managers.
- Design and implement real-time video streaming features using Android media frameworks and HLS/RTSP protocols.
- Build responsive and performant UIs following Material Design guidelines and modern Android practices.
- Research, evaluate, and apply new Android technologies and methodologies.
- Own self-directed work, exercise sound technical judgment, and contribute ideas to product development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 2 years of professional Android development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin; Java experience is a plus.
- Experience with Android Studio, Android SDK, and modern architecture patterns including MVVM, MVI, and MVP.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and backend service integration.
- Understanding of asynchronous programming with Coroutines and Flow.
- Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Experience leveraging AI/ML technologies in mobile applications.
- Video streaming experience with MediaCodec, HLS, RTSP, WebRTC, or custom media implementations is a bonus.
- Experience with Jetpack Compose, Android Jetpack components, Android NDK/JNI, Kotlin Flow, Gradle, modular app architecture, dependency management, mobile security, CI/CD pipelines, Firebase, Crashlytics, Sentry, Wear OS, Android TV, app widgets, or iOS development is preferred.
