Base Salary
$150k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the cell platform as an internal product, including its roadmap, releases, and relationships with robotics, software, and manufacturing teams.
- Develop and maintain the layers between firmware and application software, including sensors, cameras, compute, carrier boards, networking, OS/BSP, middleware, data transport, provisioning, and fleet infrastructure.
- Remain hands-on-keyboard while defining the technical roadmap and hiring the engineers who will build the team.
- Deliver a consistent, reproducible, performant base cell platform for production factory and robotics systems.
- Evaluate and qualify hardware, sensor integrations, real-time behavior, transport paths, container images, releases, and fleet operations on deployed robots.
Requirements
- Several years of production-fleet ownership, typically 8+ years of industry experience at AV, humanoid, AMR, or drone companies.
- Experience building and shipping platforms on robot fleets deployed to real customers, including remote OTA updates, debugging without physical access, and production reliability.
- Deep embedded Linux and BSP experience with kernels, drivers, device trees, boot, BSP management, and platform bring-up on NVIDIA Jetson and x86 targets.
- Experience integrating and evaluating multiple sensor types at the driver, SDK, and middleware-wrapper levels, especially GMSL2 and PoE cameras.
- Experience configuring and validating real-time Linux, CPU isolation, IRQ affinity, and real-time scheduling for 500 Hz–1 kHz control loops.
- Fluency with ROS 2, DDS/RMW internals, QoS, node composition, and zero-copy transport.
- Ability to architect and evaluate data transport across single-compute and distributed-compute systems using shared memory, DMA/NVMM paths, and network protocols.
