Responsibilities
- Lead complex engineering initiatives and coordinate work across engineers and AI coding agents.
- Own squad architecture and technical direction by designing scalable solutions and reusable components.
- Drive design reviews, code quality, system reliability, continuous improvement, and predictable delivery.
- Design and improve AI-augmented workflows for code generation, testing, and documentation.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers, resolve complex technical challenges, and influence engineering practices across teams.
- Oversee production systems and deployments while driving reliability improvements.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience building, architecting, and scaling production software systems.
- Deep expertise in at least one programming language, such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go, Ruby, PHP, or C#.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and architectural judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering initiatives and coordinate work across engineers.
- Experience designing scalable, reusable solutions and balancing short-term needs with long-term value.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and AI-augmented engineering workflows.
- Strong technical leadership, communication, mentoring, and stakeholder-influence skills.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience with Ruby on Rails or Node.js, with experience in both considered a plus.
- Preferred familiarity with React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, AWS, Terraform, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones is a plus.
