Responsibilities
- Write quality, maintainable C++ and/or Python software for robotic systems.
- Develop and test software controlling robot motion and autonomous behavior.
- Work with vision sensors, robot arms, and other robotic hardware.
- Debug software and hardware interactions on physical systems.
- Design reliable, functional, and cost-effective vehicle-control software.
- Troubleshoot or reprogram systems and maintain software documentation.
- Participate in peer reviews, design discussions, testing, and other engineering activities.
Requirements
- Be an undergraduate student majoring in computer science, software engineering, robotics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrate confidentiality, strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, quality focus, and the ability to work independently.
- Experience with C++, Python, or a similar programming language through coursework, clubs, or personal projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with software engineering concepts and data structures is preferred.
- Experience with a robotics specialty such as controls, motion planning, perception, or autonomy is preferred.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and similar web-based software applications.
- Be able to prioritize work, adapt to changing needs, and work under tight deadlines.
- Be able to perform occasional physical tasks, including moderate lifting up to 50 pounds.
