Responsibilities
- Research and develop practical machine learning algorithms for video technology.
- Develop ML-based video approaches for current and future Apple products.
- Prototype model architectures, design training procedures and objective functions, and perform visualization and debugging.
- Work on computer vision, image and video generation, representation learning, compression, and related ML problems.
- Implement practical ML solutions and potentially develop custom operations in CUDA.
- Collaborate with colleagues while working independently on technically challenging research problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on machine learning research experience, which may include Ph.D. work.
- Proven deep learning experience with publications in top machine learning or computer vision venues.
- Familiarity with current machine learning and computer vision innovations, including generative AI modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in Python and common machine learning tools such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Knowledge of deep learning principles, model prototyping, architecture design, training procedures, visualization, debugging, and objective-function design.
- Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. or master’s degree specializing in machine learning.
- Preferred experience includes CUDA custom operations, practical industry ML implementations, generative modeling, optical flow, perceptual quality, ML for video, or data compression.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
