Base Salary
$20k - $30k/yr
Responsibilities
- Travel to DISCOM sites across India and embed with engineering, planning, and operations teams to understand their data landscape and operational pain points.
- Acquire, clean, and structure large-scale operational datasets, including SCADA streams, smart-meter telemetry, GIS networks, billing records, and weather feeds.
- Partner with ML and engineering teams to tune and deploy demand forecasting, renewable generation forecasting, network mapping, and load-flow models.
- Own the data side of model deployments and feed insights into the model development process.
- Architect and ship cloud-native data pipelines on GCP to productionize models for customers.
- Work with utility leadership on procurement, compliance, and rollout from initial pitch through live deployment.
- Identify product gaps in the field and communicate them to the core engineering team.
Requirements
- Degree in engineering, computer science, or a quantitative discipline.
- Strong programming fundamentals in Python and comfort with SQL and pandas.
- Experience with at least one ML framework, such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, or PyTorch.
- Experience working with large, messy real-world datasets.
- Comfort with cloud infrastructure, including GCP or AWS, and modern data tooling.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel within India, often at short notice.
- Ability to take ownership and execute tasks with minimal hand-holding.
- Prior exposure to the power, energy, or infrastructure sector is preferred.
- Experience with geospatial data and tools such as QGIS, GeoPandas, shapefiles, or GDB is preferred.
- Experience deploying, managing, or building end-to-end software products at scale is preferred.
