Responsibilities

  • Architect core world and scene representation systems, including entity-component frameworks, spatial indexing, occupancy representations, and 4D object management for large-scale multi-agent environments.
  • Build and optimize mapping, computational geometry, coordinate-frame, spatial-query, and environment-abstraction pipelines between sensor data and path planning.
  • Write highly optimized C++20 code focused on low latency, cache efficiency, memory-conscious design, profiling, allocation elimination, and real-time performance.
  • Lead architectural decisions and design clean APIs for integration across air, ground, and maritime autonomy stacks.
  • Collaborate with sensor, planning, and simulation engineers and mentor teams as a technical anchor.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in spatial systems, world modeling, or simulation environments.
  • Expert-level C++ skills, including C++20 or later, template metaprogramming, move semantics, SIMD, and systems-level performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience building world or scene representations in a game engine, simulation platform, or autonomous system, including dynamic object state, spatial indexing, and real-time updates.
  • Strong background in computational geometry, coordinate transformations, spatial data structures such as BVH, octrees, and k-d trees, geometric algorithms, and collision or proximity systems.
  • Deep understanding of low-latency, high-throughput software design in real-time environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and shell scripting for tooling and automation.
  • Experience with agentic coding tools including Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot.
  • Nice to have expertise with Linux, Docker, C++ toolchains, Nix, Bazel, and cross-compilation.
  • Nice to have experience with temporal reasoning systems, 4D scene representation, game development, simulation, virtual environments, physics engines, collision detection, or autonomous and robotics software architectures.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Benefits

  • Primarily in-office work at an Applied Intuition office five days per week, with occasional remote-work flexibility.
  • Base salary, equity, and comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off.
  • Travel may be required up to once a month for up to one week, averaging approximately 20%.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. security clearance are required.
