Responsibilities
- Design and implement real-time systems, DSP algorithms, and microcontroller firmware.
- Optimize signal-processing algorithms and embedded systems for latency, throughput, memory, and processing efficiency.
- Perform design evaluations, code reviews, testing, debugging, verification, and validation to ensure reliable and robust systems.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues and propose solutions to engineering challenges.
- Design systems that comply with applicable regulatory standards.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance and best practices.
- Support workload planning, task prioritization, resource allocation, team coordination, and technical leadership.
- Identify skill gaps and training needs and create personalized development plans.
- Contribute to process improvement, workflow optimization, and comprehensive technical documentation.
- Stay current with DSP and microcontroller technologies and introduce innovative design approaches.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience designing, simulating, implementing, verifying, and validating real-time systems on DSPs and microcontrollers.
- At least 5 years of professional experience programming in C++ and C.
- At least 5 years of professional experience with real-time operating systems, including FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
- Strong knowledge of complex digital electronic circuits and digital signal-processing algorithms such as FFT, digital filters, and resampling.
- Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators.
- Experience with I2C, SPI, UART, RS485, RS232, and RGMII peripheral standards and communication protocols.
- Familiarity with Bash and Python scripting.
- Proficiency with Git source-code revision control and fluent written and verbal English communication.
- Knowledge of SHARC or equivalent DSP architecture is desirable.
- Knowledge of FPGA architecture and design and HDL languages is desirable.
- Knowledge of CMake build systems is desirable.
- Proficiency with GitLab, Docker, CI/CD, and Artifactory is desirable.
- Experience with DNP, 1588, MQTT, and other application-layer protocols is desirable.
- Knowledge of electronic components and PCB reworking is desirable.
- Experience with TCL scripting is desirable.
