Responsibilities
- Author specifications and orchestrate AI agents through feature delivery.
- Review AI-generated features for hallucinated APIs, dropped edge cases, architectural problems, and other failure modes.
- Design and ship backend solutions from planning through production, including multiple production releases per day.
- Build reusable skills, plugins, and custom agent workflows for engineering teams.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA analysts, automation engineers, web engineers, mobile engineers, and leadership.
- Rotate across teams and products while developing platform, architecture, and domain expertise.
Requirements
- 5+ years of production software engineering experience with deep backend expertise in Java or another statically typed language such as Kotlin, C#, or Go.
- Demonstrated experience with specification-driven development and features shipped by agents from authored specifications.
- Daily hands-on experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot Agent, or OpenAI Codex as a primary development interface.
- Experience building reusable skills, plugins, custom agent workflows, MCP servers, Claude skills, Cursor rules, or Copilot extensions.
- Strong judgment reviewing AI-generated code and identifying hallucinations, edge cases, and architectural weaknesses.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, ORM technologies such as Hibernate, API design, object-oriented analysis, and common design patterns.
- Proven experience delivering software from inception to production in a cross-functional team with continuous production delivery.
- Preferred qualifications include Java/Spring/Spring Boot, React/Web, iOS, Android, Docker, Kubernetes, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jira, Confluence, Confluent Cloud, Kafka, agile delivery, rotational or multi-team experience, and family or legal technology experience.
