Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot software features and infrastructure.
- Ensure software and services are highly available, scalable, secure, and performant.
- Monitor and evaluate platforms, identify issues, and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with platform and services teams to resolve complex technical problems.
- Build and scale Amazon Web Services infrastructure using infrastructure as code.
- Develop, operate, monitor, log, and alarm production systems, including through on-call rotations.
- Design data models and databases and use SQL for application development.
- Write software design, operational support, and knowledge-sharing documentation.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and contribute to engineering team development.
Requirements
- Require 4 to 5+ years of experience.
- Require a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Computer Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with one or more programming languages, including Golang, and willingness to learn additional technologies.
- Professional software development experience and ability to write secure, stable, testable, maintainable code.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployment, testing, and operations.
- Experience building and operating complex software systems in production, including security, privacy, monitoring, logging, and alarming practices.
- Experience building and scaling AWS infrastructure with infrastructure as code and using cloud services for identity, networking, storage, databases, containers, and serverless computing.
- Ability to troubleshoot large-scale distributed systems and support production environments with multiple technologies and design techniques.
- Knowledge of relational, graph, document, and key-value databases, data modeling, database design, and SQL.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, independent-working, adaptability, risk-identification, and ambiguity-management skills.
- Passion for mentoring and coaching engineers in technical and soft skills.
