Responsibilities
- Own and evolve systems for new and emerging sports on Strava.
- Design and build backend services for enhanced sport experiences.
- Ship product work for Next Sports while contributing to architectural decisions.
- Participate in technical design reviews and shape the team's technical direction.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proven track record of writing production-ready software.
- Solid backend/server engineering experience in a production environment.
- Experience with distributed systems and scaling trade-offs.
- Hands-on experience with SQL or column stores for data storage.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language (Ruby, Scala, Go, Java).
- Familiarity with distributed systems technologies like Kafka, Kubernetes, and AWS.
- Ability to break down problems and communicate effectively with teams.
