Responsibilities
- Identify root causes of systemic server-fleet issues and drive resolutions using hardware failure data and diagnostic telemetry.
- Write, review, and maintain diagnostic and automation tooling for hyperscale production-server delivery.
- Own diagnostic-tooling requirements that help frontline operations teams manage and repair the server fleet.
- Lead escalation, validation, and verification processes for complex tooling, hardware, and new-product integration issues.
- Analyze fleet data to prioritize server-repair automation opportunities.
- Collaborate with tooling teams, influence development roadmaps, and improve global data center operating procedures.
- Mentor engineers on fleet issue resolution, tooling improvements, and operational processes.
- Travel up to 25% to support global data center operations and new site deployments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 6 years of experience in production systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or systems software development for large-scale hardware environments.
- At least 6 years of experience with hardware lifecycle management, fleet automation, or data center operations systems spanning compute, storage, or networking infrastructure.
- Experience developing systems software or automation tooling in Python, Bash, PHP, C, or C++ for Linux production environments at scale.
- Experience configuring and maintaining production systems including web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage systems, and messaging systems.
- Experience communicating technical designs and infrastructure decisions through written documentation and cross-functional stakeholder alignment.
- Preferred experience with data analysis and visualization tools, configuration management, infrastructure-as-code, global data center deployments, hardware qualification, distributed monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation pipelines.
