Base Salary
$187k - $259k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own Chime’s Python version standards, upgrade cadence, and compliance.
- Design and drive safe, repeatable Python upgrade processes across services.
- Establish clear dependency management practices.
- Partner with CI/CD stakeholders to improve build performance and developer experience.
- Maintain and develop critical internal Python libraries.
- Define and evangelize Python best practices aligned with community standards.
- Identify opportunities to maximize returns from the Python + AI ecosystem.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in Python in production.
- Strong experience with Python build tooling and understanding of versioning tradeoffs.
- Understanding of asynchronous and synchronous data-sharing patterns.
- Solid knowledge of containerized environments and build systems.
- Experience building and maintaining shared libraries used by multiple teams.
- A security- and reliability-first mindset around EOL management and patching.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Comfort operating with ambiguous requirements.
- Bonus: experience in data engineering and ML.
