Responsibilities

Build custom platform services, tooling, and automation primarily in Go.
Design and operate event-driven systems using Kafka, Redis, and MySQL.
Develop and own APIs and service-layer logic end to end.
Deploy, scale, and manage service traffic on AWS and Kubernetes.
Own deployment pipelines, AWS networking, and platform performance.
Instrument services with APM and observability tools such as New Relic and Sumo Logic.
Lead production incident response, resolve issues, and build safeguards to prevent recurrence.
Explain service-layer architecture and defend technical design trade-offs.

2–3 years of experience in backend and platform engineering.
Strong Go experience is mandatory, with Rust or Java acceptable alternatives; Python or JavaScript may be considered as a last resort.
Production-grade coding ability focused on building custom solutions rather than configuring existing tools.
Hands-on experience with Kafka, Redis, MySQL, AWS, and Kubernetes.
Experience with service scaling, traffic management, deployment, AWS-level networking, observability/APM, and reliability or SRE practices.
Ability to reason about service-layer architecture and explain technical trade-offs.
Experience building custom platform services or tooling, designing event-driven systems at scale, deploying and scaling cloud services, and resolving critical production incidents.
