Responsibilities

  • Write production software that has meaningful impact for Stripe and its customers.
  • Give and receive technical feedback through code reviews and design discussions.
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to seek and incorporate feedback.
  • Learn unfamiliar systems, work effectively with an intern manager and teammates, and communicate work status clearly.

Requirements

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, math, or a related discipline, with equivalent work experience accepted for the university education qualification.
  • Some programming experience through side projects or classwork and familiarity with languages such as Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, or Go.
  • Experience from previous internships or other multi-person projects, including open source contributions, demonstrating the ability to evaluate and receive feedback.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and collaboration with mentors and subject matter experts.
  • At least two years of university education or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Preferred qualifications include frontend knowledge, understanding of HTTP request handling, experience writing high-quality pull requests with good test coverage, familiarity with new codebases and multiple languages, and clear written communication.
