Responsibilities
- Lead developer platform initiatives end to end, including CI/CD and observability standards, local development workflows, and incident response.
- Define how AI-assisted and agentic workflows fit into development from scaffolding through review and deployment.
- Partner with product and data engineering teams to remove friction and improve developer velocity.
- Own developer velocity and reliability metrics and be accountable for improving them.
- Help establish reliable, secure, and scalable software development practices across Pave Engineering.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in backend, infrastructure, or developer experience.
- Strong developer empathy and a focus on improving workflows and enabling engineering teams.
- Proven ability to lead large, ambiguous projects with cross-team impact.
- Experience improving developer velocity with modern AI tooling, including agentic coding and AI-assisted review or testing.
- Solid understanding of cloud architecture, including GCP or similar platforms.
- Strong instincts for reliability and security, particularly when handling sensitive compensation data.
- Strong debugging and systems-thinking skills with experience scaling production systems.
- Experience building internal developer platforms in enterprise SaaS environments is preferred.
