Responsibilities
- Design and build high-quality, scalable software using strong engineering architecture and process practices.
- Build and maintain backend services and user interfaces for the Okta Workflows integrated development environment.
- Own code across the full lifecycle, including design, implementation, test automation, delivery, and monitoring.
- Work with product owners and architects to scope and plan engineering efforts and dependencies.
- Develop new products and features while reducing existing technical debt.
- Participate in code reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement activities.
- Collaborate with QA, Technical Support, Documentation, and UX teams.
- Mentor colleagues and promote knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of JavaScript and 5+ years of experience building Express and ReactJS applications.
- Experience shipping robust services and user interfaces for production-grade applications in a product-oriented environment.
- Experience working with cloud systems at scale.
- Prior experience consuming and/or designing REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of software development and testing principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant industry experience.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL is preferred.
- Familiarity with TypeScript is preferred.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.
