Base Salary
$175k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain network-facing software layers for reliable communication with shore.
- Design egress telemetry pipelines that efficiently use bandwidth.
- Collaborate on APIs and schemas for command, control, and telemetry exchanges.
- Partner with network engineers to prioritize bandwidth allocation among data streams.
- Ensure software degrades gracefully during connectivity loss or link degradation.
- Review onboard software for vulnerabilities and harden network-facing services.
- Analyze system performance and implement optimizations for efficiency.
- Extend and improve unit testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strengthen code review, documentation, and software engineering practices.
- Participate in design reviews and cross-team technical collaborations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience developing software.
- 3+ years of experience with data-intensive or mission-critical systems.
- Proficiency in a systems programming language (Rust, C++, or similar).
- Proficiency with version control (git).
- Competency with CI/CD pipelines for automated tests and deployment.
- Experience with network-facing software and connection lifecycles.
- Understanding of computer networking fundamentals (L2–L4).
- Experience designing systems for constrained, high-latency links.
- Familiarity with security principles for networked systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams.
