Base Salary
$97k - $208k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Newline’s core RESTful API using Ruby on Rails.
- Design and implement backend infrastructure with SRE teams using Terraform.
- Integrate the platform with bank core services and APIs.
- Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews and software architecture discussions.
- Build and maintain internal data pipelines and BI tools.
- Improve API platform scaling, optimization, availability, and operational support.
- Establish and follow data security, information security, risk management, and regulatory compliance practices.
- Automate processes and create maintainable, supportable, and testable solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, mentoring, and training to less experienced team members.
- Provide troubleshooting and operational support for team products and services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technology field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Eight or more years of engineering or other relevant IT work experience.
- Prior experience in a technical or team lead capacity.
- Hands-on experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and ActiveRecord.
- Experience writing unit tests in RSpec.
- Knowledge of Jenkins or comparable CI/CD tools.
- Ability to build and consume command-line tools.
- Experience working in an Agile software environment.
- Experience with Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code deployments is a plus.
- Experience building high-throughput API systems of approximately 100 TPS is a plus.
- Experience shipping highly available 99.99% enterprise B2B SaaS products is preferred.
- Experience in a regulated financial environment is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills and experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex technical solutions.
- Solid understanding of IT security best practices and modern software development practices, tools, and technologies.
