Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate enterprise security controls as software products integrated with the SDLC and core enterprise platforms.
- Own security capabilities end to end, including architecture, implementation, deployment, and production support.
- Write, test, and maintain high-quality production code while meeting reliability and delivery expectations.
- Design and operate scalable distributed systems, cloud-based applications, APIs, and backend services.
- Evaluate technologies, frameworks, and patterns to improve the effectiveness and usability of security controls.
- Collaborate with product managers, platform teams, and engineering partners to deliver integrated security capabilities.
- Participate in delivery ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
- At Lead and Expert levels, coach or mentor engineers and lead technical design and architecture decisions for complex distributed systems.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience with ownership of production systems throughout the full software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages, such as Java or JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating scalable distributed systems and cloud-based applications.
- Experience with microservices architectures, API development and integration, and backend services.
- Familiarity with test-driven development, paired programming, and continuous integration and deployment.
- Experience collaborating within agile delivery models and across product and engineering teams.
- Lead and Expert levels require at least 1 year of coaching or mentoring experience and demonstrated leadership of complex technical design and architecture decisions.
- Knowledge of application and API security concepts, including OWASP Top 10 and MITRE ATT&CK, is desirable.
- Experience with authentication, authorization, identity-based access controls, secure software development, and security-focused testing is desirable.
- Practical exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot or Cursor is desirable.
