Responsibilities
- Develop backend features across the full lending lifecycle, including customer onboarding, affordability assessment, loan payout, and collections.
- Design technical solutions, review code, build tests, coordinate deployments, and participate throughout the SDLC.
- Own part of the platform and the smooth operation of its associated business processes and KPIs.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and internal and external users to refine requirements.
- Provide second-line business-hours support and troubleshoot customer-impacting system issues.
- Support junior engineers through pull-request reviews and pairing.
- Use SQL to troubleshoot and improve data management and retrieval performance across Postgres databases.
Requirements
- Seven or more years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proven experience leading development of significant new functionality.
- Proficiency writing well-structured asynchronous Python with type hints and unit tests.
- Experience maintaining codebases for business-critical systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Git for version control.
- Basic cloud infrastructure knowledge and experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong SQL skills for efficient data management and retrieval.
- Fluency in both Chinese and English.
- Knowledge of lending products and business processes is a major advantage.
