Base Salary
$261k - $353k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define reusable architecture patterns, integration standards, and agent-platform guardrails for Forward Deployed Engineering engagements.
- Own the technical review bar for production deployments, including security and compliance sign-off requirements.
- Partner with Enterprise Accountant Suite engineering leadership to align customer-specific work with the core platform roadmap.
- Act as the technical escalation point for difficult architecture decisions, platform limitations, and production incidents across simultaneous customer engagements.
- Review and write code, review integration architecture, and directly handle high-stakes customer escalations.
- Travel to customer sites as needed, up to 30–40%.
- Own the framework for quantifying and validating automation ROI and coach Staff FDEs and pod leads on defending business cases to economic buyers.
- Translate recurring field patterns into structured, prioritized input for Product Engineering.
- Create implementation guides, architecture references, and reusable assets to make future engagements faster and more repeatable.
- Partner with FDE leadership to distinguish shared platform capabilities from customer-specific implementations and set technical standards for a distributed team.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in customer-embedded engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, technical consulting, or an equivalent field, with progression into technical leadership or principal-level scope.
- Deep hands-on experience with agentic AI systems, including LangChain, LangGraph, MCP servers, multi-agent orchestration, RAG, vector stores, and hybrid retrieval.
- Experience with LLMs and related tooling, including OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic, GitHub Copilot, and Gemini Code Assist.
- Advanced prompt-engineering experience sufficient to review and improve other engineers’ agent designs.
- Deep experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, SQL, and enterprise integrations.
- Experience serving as a technical escalation point across multiple simultaneous engagements under delivery and revenue pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to build and defend quantified ROI cases to CFOs, Controllers, or equivalent economic buyers, and coach others to do so.
- Experience translating field-level technical feedback into structured, prioritized product input.
- Technical fluency and credibility to operate as a peer with Principal and Staff engineers in Product Engineering.
- Preferred background in high-growth SaaS, applied AI, fintech, ERP, or accounting-related domains.
- Preferred domain experience in construction, nonprofit, manufacturing, wealth management, health care, franchise, or field services.
- Preferred experience establishing technical standards or architecture-review practices for distributed embedded or field-engineering teams.
- Non-traditional backgrounds such as military service, management consulting, competitive programming, or a PhD are welcomed.
