Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and operate production-grade AI/ML systems powering Asteri’s orchestration platform.
- Integrate AI capabilities with backend, platform, and frontend systems into scalable product workflows.
- Deploy and iterate on LLM-based applications while evaluating quality, latency, and cost.
- Own retrieval and agentic systems, including RAG pipelines, workflow agents, and policy-driven logic, end to end.
- Define and run offline and production evaluations, testing, monitoring, and rollback strategies for AI systems.
- Improve model performance and system behavior through experimentation, tuning, and system-level optimization.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into robust AI solutions.
- Track advances in applied AI and generative models and apply relevant techniques to product improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience building production software.
- At least 5 years of professional experience spanning software engineering and applied AI/ML development.
- Experience deploying and operating ML or LLM-based systems in production environments.
- Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, model evaluation, and system-level tradeoffs.
- Experience with cloud-based deployment of ML systems.
- Strong software engineering skills in systems design, testing, and performance optimization.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and work independently within a senior engineering team.
- Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Hugging Face is preferred.
- Deep experience with retrieval-augmented generation systems, ML lifecycle and experimentation tools such as MLflow, Weights & Biases, or DVC, and distributed or data-intensive systems is preferred.
- Exposure to enterprise or regulated environments is preferred.
