Base Salary
$105k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and improve secure and scalable features for the managed OpenSearch service.
- Lead cross-team platform evolution involving middleware patterns, runtimes, interoperability, versioning, deprecation, and rollout strategies.
- Drive production readiness, release planning, observability standards, resilience patterns, capacity planning, and operational excellence.
- Improve build systems, test frameworks, performance validation, and scalability strategies.
- Automate operational procedures, strengthen SRE practices, and participate in on-call rotations.
- Troubleshoot complex distributed-system, networking, API, maintenance, and customer-reported issues.
- Lead code reviews, provide technical guidance, mentor engineers, and contribute to hiring decisions.
- Develop migration guides, adoption playbooks, documentation, and customer issue-handling processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering or infrastructure roles.
- Experience designing, deploying, and operating scalable OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or similar managed-service clusters.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, availability, throughput, and production operations.
- Proficiency in Java and Python.
- Experience with unit and integration testing, build and CI practices, automation, monitoring, alerting, incident response, performance tuning, and observability.
- Experience with secure coding, API versioning and interoperability, scalability strategies, and complex software troubleshooting.
- Exposure to vector databases is beneficial.

- The position is a U.S.-based salaried role with a stated hiring range of $104,500 to $234,600 per annum, plus possible bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
