Responsibilities
- Implement standardized AWS migration patterns, including rehost, replatform, redeploy, and refactor approaches.
- Design and operate an application migration factory with automation pipelines, runbooks, deployment frameworks, and cutover orchestration.
- Build tooling, automation frameworks, Terraform modules, and reusable deployment templates for high-scale migrations.
- Drive VM-to-container migrations and deploy containerized applications and Kubernetes-based microservices using EKS.
- Configure and deploy AWS compute, storage, networking, database, middleware, container registry, and runtime services.
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation and containerized application deployment.
- Use Python and Bash to automate provisioning, deployment, and operational workflows.
- Execute data migration, cutover, validation, and post-migration stabilization activities.
- Manage hybrid networking, multi-environment deployments, enterprise landing zones, IAM, cross-account access, and identity federation.
- Apply security, compliance, reliability, cost optimization, infrastructure-as-code, policy-as-code, and enterprise guardrail requirements.
- Coordinate with platform engineering, security teams, vendors, AWS specialists, and cloud providers.
- Document implementations and communicate with stakeholders across cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10–15+ years of total experience, including 7+ years in cloud engineering or migration roles.
- Deep hands-on expertise with AWS architecture and services and proven experience with large-scale application migrations to AWS.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions, including CI/CD pipelines for cloud and hybrid environments.
- Experience managing self-hosted CI/CD runners in on-premises and cloud environments.
- Deep understanding of IAM, cross-account access, AWS IAM Identity Center, and SSO.
- Experience with CloudWatch, logging, metrics, and tracing for migration validation and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on database and data migration experience, including replication, backup and restore, and minimal-downtime cutovers.
- Experience with enterprise cloud landing zones, SCPs, account structures, security controls, hybrid networking, routing, DNS resolution, and cloud connectivity.
- Experience designing and managing isolated dev, test, and production environments with promotion workflows.
- Experience with enterprise artifact repositories such as JFrog Artifactory.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred: cloud cost optimization and FinOps experience, including tagging and cost visibility strategies.
- Preferred: experience with AWS Application Migration Service, DMS, or equivalent migration tools.
- Preferred: experience with GitOps deployment models such as ArgoCD and environment-based deployment strategies.
- Preferred: AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes-related, or equivalent certifications.
- Preferred: experience in large-scale transformation programs or Agile delivery models.
