Principal AI Engineer

- Design, build, and deploy autonomous multi-agent workflows using orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, and Autogen.
- Architect graph-based workflows with 10+ nodes supporting agent collaboration, task decomposition, conditional routing, and sequential or parallel execution.
- Develop reusable agent node libraries, platform patterns, versioning strategies, and unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks.
- Build production FastAPI applications with asynchronous I/O, PostgreSQL, Redis, external enterprise services, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Implement real-time agent streaming through Server-Sent Events and WebSockets.
- Integrate AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and OpenAI GPT-4, including versioned and templated prompt management.
- Implement Redis-based conversation-state checkpointing and tool-calling protocols for external data sources and APIs.
- Build hybrid LLM, rule-based, and statistical intelligence patterns with response transformation pipelines for structured analytical outputs.
- Implement Langfuse or LangSmith observability, agent evaluation, telemetry, performance monitoring, and LLM cost optimization.
- Ensure LDAP, SSO, access control, error handling, data governance, enterprise security, and Responsible AI compliance.
- Partner with data engineers, business analysts, and UX teams to translate requirements into scalable agent workflows and streaming interfaces.
- Mentor junior engineers, participate in architecture reviews, and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- 9+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years building and deploying production LLM-powered applications.
- Proven experience with agentic orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, or Autogen; LangGraph is preferred.
- Experience with cloud LLM providers including AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or OpenAI GPT-4.
- Production experience with asynchronous web frameworks, particularly FastAPI.
- Experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Expert-level asynchronous Python programming, including asyncio and async/await patterns.
- Experience building autonomous multi-step agent systems with conditional logic, state management, and tool-calling patterns.
- Strong understanding of ReAct, Plan-and-Execute, and tool-use agent design patterns.
- Experience with Model Context Protocol, agent-to-agent communication frameworks, LLMOps, Langfuse or LangSmith, and prompt engineering at scale.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills for globally distributed teams.
- Global life sciences or GPS experience and experience working with offshore technical teams or international stakeholders are preferred.
