Responsibilities
- Build and use automation frameworks for web application testing using Java or C#.
- Perform in-sprint automation and manual testing of web and Windows-based applications.
- Identify and review test cases and test results, and convert complex requirements into test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
- Prepare test strategies, test plans, requirement traceability matrices, and test reports.
- Perform sanity, functional, integration, exploratory, and system testing.
- Create virtual machines for automation and configure test suites and test runners.
- Test web services and write medium-complexity SQL queries.
- Use defect tracking and test management tools, analyze risks, and support quality delivery.
- Perform both manual and automation testing in an approximately 60:40 ratio.
- Work within Agile/Scrum teams and collaborate with global engineering and delivery teams.
Requirements
- 6–9 years of experience in QA or software testing.
- Expertise in automation testing of web applications and experience building automation frameworks.
- Hands-on programming experience with C#, Java, and Python.
- Expertise with Selenium, SpecFlow, BDD, and Protractor.
- Proficiency with Git or another version control tool.
- Good knowledge of manual testing for web and Windows-based applications.
- Hands-on experience with test strategy, test plans, requirement traceability matrices, and test reporting.
- Hands-on SQL experience, including joins and subqueries.
- Understanding of JSON, XML, and REST, with experience testing web services using Postman, REST Assured, JSON Lint, and SoapUI.
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira, TFS/MTM, or Bugzilla.
- Experience with test management tools such as TFS/MTM or ALM.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving, communication, writing, attention to detail, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
- Experience testing LIMS is an advantage; performance testing and security testing knowledge are desirable.
