Responsibilities
- Create application and infrastructure performance plans and models for scalable, low-latency, highly available payment processing systems.
- Instrument software components with metrics to support real-time troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
- Develop and execute load and stress tests for critical payment applications using performance testing tools.
- Performance-test APIs, abstractions, integration patterns, and distributed computing systems.
- Define performance strategies, establish baselines, and certify go-lives.
- Analyze code and recommend optimization techniques while contributing to application and infrastructure development.
- Build automation for monitoring, deployment, incident response, alerting, and remediation.
- Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, resolve defects and enhancements within service-level agreements, and support 24x7 systems.
- Document performance test procedures, scripts, findings, risks, and results.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, business stakeholders, clients, issuers, acquirers, merchants, and partners globally.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience with a bachelor’s degree, at least 10 years with an advanced degree, or at least 14 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong experience in performance engineering, performance testing, load testing, and application performance monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux environments, operating system internals, file systems, storage, networking protocols, virtual machines, and containers.
- Programming proficiency in Java, Python, C++, or comparable languages, along with scripting experience.
- Experience with distributed enterprise application development, server-side development, scalable web services, and containerized microservices.
- Knowledge of relational databases including Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and processes, including Jenkins, Maven, and GitHub Actions.
- Experience with LoadRunner, JMeter, BlazeMeter, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, OPNET, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, algorithms, data structures, monitoring, and application analysis tools.
- Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments and communicating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Splunk, thread and heap dump analysis, garbage collection analysis, and GenAI, ChatGPT, or LLMs is preferred.
