Base Salary
$194k - $239k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build core security services such as permissions management, secrets orchestration, and secure MLOps.
- Develop secure-by-default libraries and frameworks for engineering teams.
- Add self-service security controls, including SAST and supply chain security controls, to the security automation pipeline.
- Conduct secure code and architecture reviews, enforce secure-by-design principles, and lead threat modeling.
- Build and maintain resilient cloud infrastructure with network isolation, automated vulnerability detection, and defense-in-depth strategies.
- Run security incident response, document risks, and support compliance audits such as SOC 2.
- Advise engineering teams on security best practices and reduce developer security friction.
- Educate and mentor engineers on secure development processes.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on security-focused engineering experience.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Ruby, TypeScript, Python, or C++, with willingness to learn others.
- Experience building scalable production security systems, including secret management, service authorization, or data encryption.
- Experience with threat modeling, security design reviews, or security incident response.
- Experience integrating security into the software development lifecycle.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to serve as a final checkpoint on security decisions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-team interactions.
- Ability to mentor and train engineers on secure development processes.
- Proactive commitment to continuous learning and staying current with security trends.
