Base Salary

$124k - $154k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright, Python, Jest, and API automation.
  • Develop end-to-end and integration tests for asynchronous, event-driven, eventually consistent, and distributed systems, including Temporal-based workflows.
  • Support testing in production through canary deployments, progressive rollouts, synthetic monitoring, and automated rollback triggers.
  • Create test automation for offers, cashback, affiliate and attribution flows, click tracking, consent gates, persona-based experiences, and browser extensions.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and contribute reusable workflow components for service teams.
  • Use AI tools for test authoring, test-plan generation, and code review.
  • Collaborate with development teams on testable code, coverage gaps, and quality checks throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Debug and root-cause issues across frontend, backend, APIs, and distributed services and drive fixes to completion.
  • Define and track reliability metrics such as time to detect and time to remediate.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of software engineering experience with modern web applications and distributed systems, or 2 years with a master's degree.
  • Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Java.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright, Jest, and API automation.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or ArgoCD.
  • Experience testing e-commerce or marketplace experiences, including offers, cashback, affiliate or attribution flows, click tracking, consent gates, error states, and persona- or member-group-based coverage.
  • Preferred experience building end-to-end frameworks for browser extensions or other client-side commerce surfaces.
  • Preferred experience with REST APIs, microservices, distributed and event-driven architectures, and workflow orchestration.
  • Preferred experience with canary or phased rollouts, automated rollback, contract testing, performance or load testing, and flaky-test classification.
  • Preferred experience with Java/Spring Boot or Ruby on Rails, cloud and infrastructure platforms, observability, or chaos engineering.
  • Nice-to-have experience with OAuth 2.0/OIDC, RBAC/ReBAC, secrets management, tenant isolation, IDV/KYC, and PII or compliance validation.
  • Strong root-cause analysis skills across frontend, backend, APIs, and distributed services.
