Base Salary
$153k - $234k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define AV evaluation and validation processes, including test-framework requirements, scenario and test-suite design, coverage, metrics, and confidence evidence.
- Design and implement scalable testing and simulation frameworks for test generation, execution, data collection, result aggregation, and reproducible analysis.
- Build infrastructure and data solutions using simulation and on-road data to assess autonomous vehicle performance and validation confidence.
- Evaluate simulation validity, sim-to-real correlation, predictive value, uncertainty, regressions, and AV deficiencies.
- Develop metrics, sampling approaches, analytical methods, KPIs, confidence measures, automated triage, and root-cause analysis strategies.
- Communicate data-driven insights, limitations, and recommendations to engineers, technical leaders, and stakeholders.
- Connect continuous-improvement activities to evidence supporting safety, systems, and downstream readiness decisions.
Requirements
- Strong Python programming skills and experience building maintainable analysis, evaluation, or testing tools.
- Experience designing or implementing testing, simulation, or evaluation frameworks for complex software/hardware or cyber-physical systems.
- Experience with GitHub, Jira, or equivalent tools.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership from problem definition through delivery and communication of outcomes.
- Analytical and systems-engineering experience involving complex software/hardware systems or ambiguous AI functions.
- Experience with root-cause analysis and analytical methods for system or behavioral performance data.
- Strong problem-solving, learning, independent execution, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in engineering, physics, applied mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred experience with autonomous vehicles, ADAS, robotics, simulation environments, scenario generation, large-scale test execution, statistical evaluation, risk assessment, sampling, confidence analysis, verification and validation, test automation, or large-scale evaluation systems.
