Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of Airbnb’s OpenSearch ecosystem.
- Build systems that enhance reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
- Develop tooling to improve the developer experience for OpenSearch users.
- Collaborate with the OpenSearch open source community to share improvements.
- Participate in design workshops to shape the future of the search platform.
- Focus on building and improving tooling for ElasticSearch/OpenSearch upgrades.
- Engage in mentoring sessions to develop technical and professional skills.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of industry experience with a bachelor’s or master’s degree, or no prior experience required for PhD candidates.
- Familiarity with ElasticSearch or OpenSearch is a plus.
- Proficiency in Java programming language.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
