Responsibilities
- Design enterprise monitoring and observability solutions for VM, Kubernetes, bare-metal, and cloud workloads.
- Define monitoring standards for metrics, logs, alerts, dashboards, service health models, SLIs, and SLOs.
- Build and maintain Zabbix monitoring templates, discovery, triggers, proxies, and integrations.
- Design Splunk log collection, parsing, enrichment, routing, indexing, searches, and forwarder pipelines.
- Contribute to Prometheus and Grafana metrics and visualization for Kubernetes and unified dashboards.
- Automate monitoring configuration and onboarding using infrastructure-as-code and REST APIs.
- Develop agentic AI workflows for alert triage, deduplication, event correlation, root-cause hypotheses, incident summaries, and human-approved remediation.
- Establish alert escalation, incident response, event correlation, service topology, dependency mapping, and business service monitoring.
- Secure and harden observability platforms through access controls, authentication, encryption, vulnerability remediation, and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with system owners and stakeholders, provide technical leadership and mentoring, and improve monitoring based on incidents and post-mortems.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, operations, or observability engineering, including at least 3 years focused on monitoring and observability in primarily on-premises enterprise environments.
- Production-level hands-on experience with Zabbix and Splunk.
- Experience monitoring physical servers, virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, and KVM, and Kubernetes clusters.
- Strong understanding of compute, Linux, Windows, networking, storage, and infrastructure dependencies.
- Experience with log collection and processing at scale, including parsing, normalization, enrichment, retention, and search optimization.
- Practical experience applying agentic AI, LLM agents, tool use, and automation to monitoring, operations, or incident management.
- Experience designing monitoring architecture, alert escalation policies, incident response workflows, event correlation, service topology, dependency mapping, and business service monitoring.
- Working knowledge of access control, authentication, encryption, platform hardening, and observability security.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell and comfort working with REST APIs.
- Excellent communication skills with technical owners and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with Prometheus, Grafana, cloud workloads on AWS, Azure, or GCP, hybrid environments, and software development for integrations, tools, exporters, or services.
