Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end observability architecture for enterprise applications and infrastructure across VMs, Kubernetes, bare-metal servers, and cloud workloads.
- Define monitoring standards for metrics, logs, alerting, dashboards, service health models, SLIs, SLOs, escalation policies, incident workflows, topology, and dependency mapping.
- Build and maintain Zabbix monitoring, Splunk log collection and processing pipelines, and Prometheus and Grafana metrics and visualization.
- Automate monitoring configuration and onboarding using infrastructure-as-code and REST APIs.
- Design and implement LLM-based agents for alert triage, deduplication, event correlation, root-cause analysis, incident summarization, and human-approved remediation.
- Establish guardrails, permissions, auditability, and impact measurement for AI-driven production operations.
- Secure observability platforms through access controls, authentication, encryption, vulnerability remediation, hardening, and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with system owners and stakeholders, provide technical leadership and mentoring, and improve monitoring using incidents and post-mortems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, operations, or observability engineering, including at least 3 years focused on monitoring and observability in primarily on-premises enterprise environments.
- Production-level hands-on experience with Zabbix and Splunk.
- Experience monitoring physical servers, virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, and KVM, and Kubernetes clusters.
- Strong knowledge of compute, Linux and Windows operating systems, networking, storage, and infrastructure dependencies.
- Experience with large-scale log collection and processing, including parsing, normalization, enrichment, retention, and search optimization.
- Practical experience applying agentic AI, LLM agents, tool use, and automation to monitoring, operations, or incident management.
- Experience designing monitoring architecture, alert escalation policies, incident workflows, event correlation, service topology, dependency mapping, and business service monitoring.
- Working knowledge of access control, authentication, encryption, platform hardening, and observability security.
- Strong scripting skills with Python, Bash, or PowerShell and experience with REST APIs.
- Excellent communication skills with technical owners and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with Prometheus exporters, alerting rules, Alertmanager, long-term storage, Grafana dashboards, multi-source visualization, cloud workloads on AWS, Azure, or GCP, hybrid environments, and software development for integrations, tools, exporters, or services.
