Responsibilities
- Provide architectural direction and technical leadership for infrastructure security and security guardrails across teams.
- Build shift-left security capabilities for source code, Infrastructure as Code, containers, deployment configurations, and runtime environments.
- Design policy-as-code, security enforcement, Kubernetes admission control, workload security, and security finding prioritization systems.
- Own security services through requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, production readiness, rollout, and ongoing operations.
- Define reliability, scalability, observability, fault-tolerance, SLI/SLO, telemetry, and operational practices for critical security services.
- Drive technical strategy across engineering organizations, mentor senior engineers, and lead complex initiatives through production.
- Build production-grade software and evaluate human- and AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
- Develop shared system context and orchestrate AI-agent systems supporting human workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, or security engineering experience designing and delivering large-scale production systems.
- Strong programming experience with Go, Java, or Python and the ability to design, implement, debug, and review production-quality systems.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and cloud security, with experience using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD architecture, DevSecOps, security gates, policy enforcement, and automation.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, Helm, or CloudFormation.
- Experience designing distributed, highly scalable, reliable, and secure systems.
- Strong knowledge of vulnerability management, configuration security, policy enforcement, workload security, identity and access controls, and risk assessment.
- Preferred experience includes cloud-native security, security platforms, Kubernetes Admission Controllers, OPA/Gatekeeper, Kyverno, policy-as-code, IaC security, container and runtime security, vulnerability management, and automated security remediation.
- Preferred experience includes correlating security signals, prioritizing findings by risk and exploitability, designing developer-facing security products, and implementing controls across source, IaC, CI/CD, deployment, admission, and runtime.
- Demonstrated ability to drive technical strategy, solve ambiguous security problems, mentor senior engineers, and lead multi-team initiatives.
- AI-first engineering experience, including use of AI development tools, advanced prompt engineering, and cultivation of reliable system context.
