Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for infrastructure security and security guardrails.
- Design and build shift-left security controls for source code, Infrastructure as Code, containers, deployment configurations, and runtime environments.
- Develop scalable policy-as-code, security enforcement, Kubernetes admission control, and workload security capabilities.
- Correlate, deduplicate, prioritize, and enforce security findings based on risk, exploitability, exposure, and business impact.
- Define reliability, scalability, performance, observability, fault tolerance, and operational-readiness strategies for security services.
- Own technical outcomes across requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, rollout, and ongoing operations.
- Establish engineering standards, improve security coverage and developer experience, and mentor senior engineers.
- Drive technical strategy and multi-team initiatives from concept through production.
- Build production-grade software and evaluate human- or AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, or security engineering experience designing and delivering large-scale production systems.
- Strong programming experience in Go, Java, or Python.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and cloud security with experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD, DevSecOps, deployment pipelines, security gates, and policy enforcement.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, Helm, or CloudFormation.
- Experience designing distributed, highly scalable, reliable, and secure systems.
- Strong knowledge of vulnerability management, configuration security, policy enforcement, workload security, identity and access controls, and risk assessment.
- Preferred experience includes cloud-native or application security, security platforms, Kubernetes admission technologies, policy-as-code, IaC security, container and runtime security, vulnerability management, cloud security posture management, and developer-facing security products.
- Experience driving technical strategy across engineering organizations, mentoring senior engineers, and leading complex multi-team initiatives.
- Demonstrated AI-first engineering approach, experience with AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor, and advanced prompt engineering skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
