Base Salary
$168k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own robotics middleware, health monitoring, and fleet management software for individual robots and fleets of thousands.
- Lead technical design and architecture for the new robotics manipulation platform, including real-time performance, reliability, scalability, and extensibility decisions.
- Collaborate with robotics, hardware, and operations teams to define interfaces, resolve dependencies, and deliver integrated robotic systems.
- Apply generative AI tools and techniques to automate workflows, improve developer productivity, and accelerate engineering iteration.
- Lead multi-engineer projects and mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on guidance.
- Own projects from concept through production deployment and contribute hands-on real-time C++ and AWS engineering.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with one or more software programming languages.
- At least 5 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Expert-level C++ skills.
- Experience developing software libraries and tools for robot applications and/or communication middleware.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: experience with robotic motion control systems and algorithms.
- Preferred: experience with robotic operating environments such as ROS.
